Center for Extrapyramidal Disorders (CED) is involved in diagnostic procedures and treatment of patients with various movement disorders. It has an outpatient and inpatient ward. A specialized team of neurologists, specialized nurses, psychiatrist, psychologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech therapist is taking care of patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Patients with advanced PB are offered with continuous dopaminergic treatments (s.c. apomorphine infusion and intrajejunal levodopa gel infusion). Patients who are good candidates for deep brain stimulation are referred to an experienced neurosurgical center, but they get pre and postoperative evaluation in our center.


CED additionally runs teaching courses for neurologists and general practitioners as well as for other specialized movement disorders team members and is involved in various research projects. Research topics: transcranial magnetic stimulation, functional brain imaging (fMRI, PET), CSF biomarkers, cognitive electrophysiology, gait studies and others.
